Dignity of Children® Leadership and Management training is designed for groups of educational and non-profit settings, developing personal and professional skills to maintain a high-quality environment for the children and families they serve.

We provide training in groups to schools and organizations to build a culture of fidelity. Training can be facilitated online or in person. Every training can be facilitated starting at three hours and could be stretched up to six hours for deeper learning and transfer of content.

LEADERSHIP WITH PURPOSE: CREATING A CULTURE FOR SUCCESS
This interactive workshop will help educators understand and connect with their ‘why’, which in turn will establish their purpose both in the workplace and in life. Through various activities, self-reflection and group work, attendees will identify their leadership style and learn how to work productively with other people, particularly those who have different leadership styles - all for the purpose of achieving goals together and getting positive results. At the end of the workshop, participants will not only clarify their vision for the program, but also set specific goals on achieving it and setting their program up for success.

RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP: EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
This groundbreaking workshop is designed to help educational leaders understand the meaning and purpose of emotional intelligence and provide them with the actionable steps to become responsible leaders who support their staff and the population they serve by first caring for themselves. Participants will not only explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and workplace stress, but also learn how to create a healthy learning culture for their staff through building structures and systems to support the development of emotional intelligence in the workplace.

DRIVING OUTCOMES THROUGH DATA: USING MEASUREMENT TOOLS & EVALUATION STRATEGIES
This detailed and hands-on workshop will provide educational leaders with the tools and processes to create key performance indicators (KPI’s) for their program, identify youth outcomes and best program practices that help achieve goals, and establish the most effective measuring tools to evaluate youth growth and program quality. The workshop will support educational leaders in designing evaluation strategies to fill the gaps in their program practice and create quarterly action plans driven by data.

MANAGEMENT: BEST PRACTICES, STRUCTURES & SYSTEMS | CREATING STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
This practical workshop will train educational leaders on creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each department to support efficiency and consistency in their program. Participants will not only learn how to create an evaluation system to monitor compliance and risk management, but also understand how to create a communication system with staff to reinforce and strengthen SOP’s through quarterly audits and analysis.

This organizational workshop will help educational leaders understand the developmental needs of their staff, design individual professional development plans for each staff member as well as professional development process to support program goals and vision. The purpose of this workshop is to support educational leaders in creating a communication system that ensures the effectiveness of the program practice through designing an accountability system for the team and individual members of the staff and a structure for staff to be included in the creation and development of the program practices.

This engaging workshop is designed to guide educational leaders on creating a culture of welcoming parents as partners in their program. It will explain the importance on partnering with parents directly to improve program quality and ensure its success. Participants will learn how to create communication processes between parents and staff and design parent engagement strategies that meet the needs of their parents and supports youth development.

PROMOTE A TRAUMA INFORMED CARE ENVIRONMENT
This deep and inspiring workshop will establish a clear understanding of the causes, biological mechanisms and effects of trauma. Participants will learn how to create a culture of trauma-informed care in their program. Through various reflective and collaborative experiences, participants will understand their own trauma-related emotional needs and learn how to recognize and honor the needs of other people. Participants will leave the workshop equipped with processes and strategies on regulating the behavior triggered by trauma, which will immediately improve the quality of their relationships and day-today operations.

MONITOR & MEASURING 21ST CENTURY SKILLS IN YOUTH
This innovative workshop will teach educational leaders the foundations of 21st-century learning culture and allow them to dive deep into the development of 21st-century skills in children and youth. Participants will not only learn what these skills are but will also understand their importance in the modern-day world and acquire strategies to help their youth develop them to ensure success in the 21st-century marketplace. The workshop will equip educational leaders with the best practices on designing processes that will promote self-directed learning that helps youth develop communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. In addition, participants will learn how to design a measuring system to track and define growth in youth.

We will dive deep into what diversity, equity and inclusion mean in organizational culture and society. Explore mental model for biases that perpetuate inequality in the organizational culture. Examine and reflect how everyone's behaviors either promote or suppress diversity, equity and inclusion.

PROFESSIONALISM IN THE WORKPLACE
This workshop will explore how professionalism is cultivated and promoted within the organization's culture. Participants will explore and reflect on their own attitude and behaviors in the workplace. Using the five developmental skills of emotional intelligence which are self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and decision-making, participants will collaboratively brainstorm how to enhance professionalism in the work community. They will understand how a positive first impression and successful interpersonal relationships will leave a lasting reputation within the organization and industry.

DIRECTOR'S LAB

Director's lab is designed for youth organizations with multiple sites to focus on developing their site supervisors in creating a high-performance culture.  

This program will equip supervisors with tools and strategies to develop staff with intention, implement systems and structures in all areas of their program, maintain state compliance and cultivate a culture of learning for ongoing program improvement.  

Training outcomes: 

  • To teach directors how to develop their staff with intention. 
  • To implement systems and structures in all areas of their program for consistent implementation.
  • To maintain licenses compliance and use standards to measure level of effectiveness.  
  • To cultivate a culture of learning for ongoing program improvement.    

Dignity of Children® intention is to teach middle management how to build an effective team to cultivate fundamentals practices for working with children and youth.
